Sunning
The Dominican Republic covers the eastern two-thirds of the Caribbean island of Hispaniola and scattered around the island are a great number of attractions: waterfalls hidden in the tropical jungle, beautiful secluded coves, spectacular golf courses and miles and miles of white sand beaches. The Country has much to offer, from sugar plantations, small quaint villages and wonderful mountain retreats to explore and enjoy, appealing to those travellers looking either for a hassle free holiday that's big on relaxation or for those looking for adventure.

Santo Domingo, the capital, lies on the south coast and is a most culturally significant city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has a beautiful colonial section, the Zona Colonial, with old buildings and cobblestone and coral-rock streets. The most significant site is the Catedral, the oldest existing Cathedral in the Americas. The best museum in Santo Domingo is the Museum of the Royal Houses, significant for its building and its collection.

Snorkelling, diving, boat trips, parasailing and other water sports are some of the attractions at the far eastern end of the island, around Punta Cana area and generally arranged by the hotels and resorts.

From mid-January to mid-March, the Peninsula de Samaná is a great whale- watching destination, often stated as one of the best in the world for humpback whales.

Dominican Republic is the place to be!
